All About the New Coach

The University of Arkansas Pine Bluff (UAPB) has hired Doc Gamble as its new head football coach. Gamble comes to UAPB after a successful tenure as the head coach at Fort Valley State University. During his time at Fort Valley State, Gamble led the team to three conference championships and two NCAA Division II playoff appearances.

Gamble is a proven winner and has a strong track record of success. He is expected to bring a winning attitude to UAPB and help the team compete for a Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) championship.

Changes to the Team's Roster and Coaching Staff

Several notable players have left the Arkansas-Pine Bluff Golden Lions football team this offseason, including quarterback Skyler Perry and wide receiver Josh Reed. However, the team has also added several new players, including quarterback Kaleb Eleby and wide receiver Tyler Hudson.

Gamble has also made some changes to his coaching staff. He has hired new coordinators on both sides of the ball. On offense, Gamble has hired former UAPB quarterback Kevin Johnson as his offensive coordinator. On defense, Gamble has hired former Arkansas Razorbacks defensive coordinator Robb Smith as his defensive coordinator.

The Team's Schedule

The Arkansas-Pine Bluff Golden Lions football team will open its 2023 season on September 2 against the Alabama A&M Bulldogs at home. The team will then travel to face the Mississippi Valley State Delta Devils on September 9. The team's first home conference game will be against the Grambling State Tigers on September 23.
